A very Happy New Year to you and your families!

I've tried a new to me technique today called the chalkboard technique.  This challenge can be found at Splitcoast Stampers in the Technique Lover's Challenge forum.  You'll find directions for the technique there.

The layout is from the My Favorite Things Guest Designer Challenge for January 2013.

This starts with a standard 4.25" x 5.5" card base in white.  Next comes a large rectangle and a skinny rectangle from coordinating designer papers both matted in black.  On top of that is a banner cut with the MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags die, again in a coordinating designer paper.  The little "XOXO" tab is cut with the MFT Die-Namics Mini-Tabs Foursome and stamped with a sentiment from MFT.

The felt hearts have been die-cut with a Memory Box die, and the paper hearts with another Memory Box die.

My main panel has been made with the chalkboard technique as mentioned above.  A very different and fun technique for sure!  My chalkboard panel has been matted in black and I added one little red felt heart to the center of the "YOU".  Since I wanted more of a subway sign feel  I used lots of sentiments!

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Gina K. Pure Luxury card stock in White, SU! Basic Black, SU! Real Red and Authentique Lovely
Ink:  Ranger Emboss It Clear, SU! Whisper White Craft Ink and Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps:  MFT Lovey-Dovey Sentiments and Clearly Sentimental More Essential Sentiments.
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags die, MFT Die-Namics LLD Insert It die, MFT Die-Namics Mini-Tabs Foursome, Memory Box Heart Delights die, Memory Box Twirled Heart Border die, MFT Red Hot felt, MFT Black Licorice buttons, thread, needle, embossing buddy, white embossing powder, heat gun, ruler, white pencil, Scor-Pal and adhesives

May 2013 bring you more happiness, more laughter, more love and of course...more stamping!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!
